Before the release of the World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade expansion in January 2007, Blizzard released a huge content patch that added many major features to support the expansion (like new skill trees, flight paths, and so on). Today, Blizzard made an announcement in its official forums that a similar patch is in the works for the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, due later this year.
